My Bathroom Cabinet : Essentials

I decided it was time to share my "beauty geek" essentials with you all. Products I have tried and tested and love for various reasons. Through my reviews, you may like the sound of them and perhaps try something you wouldn't have done previously? Or share my views or even disagree? I will be marking all my reviews with my "Beauty Geek" point score out of 10. 10 being highest, 1 being lowest.

First up; Nip & Fab Pistachio Sundae Dry Skin Fix Body Butter 200ml £9.95

I do suffer from dry skin and I am your typical nice weather moisturizer on my body...basically if the weather is warm, I moisturize but if its cold, I moisturize the parts that I can see! The main thing I love about this cream is it smells delicious and looks amazing. It is a body butter but isn't overly greasy. It soaks in quickly, so is ideal in the mornings when you are in a rush to get dressed and go. The cost is really reasonable too for the size of the tub. Brilliant for holidays and as a body pick me up. This product is on offer right now at 50% off so what are you waiting for....get shopping! I would give this one a "Beauty Geek" 7 out of 10

Next up ; (SBC) Simply Beautiful Collection Collagen Gel 125ml £11.00

This has been a long term favorite of mine. Not only because of its beautiful pink colour. But it has so many multiple uses. Its a great one for all the family too. Although its a gel it is a moisturizer, and is so cooling on the skin. It soaks in really quickly without a sticky residue. You do think when you first apply this that its never going to soak in...but trust me it really does. Its a perfect make up primer. Applied in a thicker layer makes a great deep conditioning facial mask as a pick me up. Brilliant to use right near the eyes because its a gel and therefore light enough for the eye area and the lips. Can be used on the backs of the hands or indeed anywhere on the body. Whats so amazing is its collagen, so a brilliant anti-ageing product for him and her (or just you, don't share, keep it as your little secret). Such a reasonable price for a versatile product.
This is such a universal product and a great one for your hand bag anytime, any-day  anywhere. No real over powering fragrance either. Perfect for all ages too. I would rate this one a "Beauty Geek" 9 out 10

As always, let me know your thoughts on these products if you have tried them and what you like or disliked about them.

Till next time......
Love & Sparkle
Caroline xx

Fake Tanning: Manual V Spray

Firstly, just to clarify the differences between the two types of fake tanning. Manual tanning is applied directly onto and into the skin that has been prepared usually in a cream or lotion format and then is allowed to develop.Spray tan is applied using a compressor type air gun and is applied in a very fine mist in a liquid format and sits onto the skin until it soaks in and then develops. Manual tanning has made a big come from in recent times. Whilst previously it was all about spray tanning treatments for numerous reasons: quickness of the treatment, even application and less product generally used. But with clients wanting  to come to the salon, or treatment area and enjoy a full treatment that involves them giving up an hour or so of their time. This has really helped the manual tan application see a big come back hit! From my experience of learning many moons ago the application of manual tanning before spray tan was even out there....I know myself, I wasn't too kee...

Ten Common Myths You Need to Know About Nails

I am sure if we all sat round a table we could share a few of these common wives tales. Told to us by our parents, grandparents or siblings.Fact is most of them are just myths, legends, tales, lies. Call them what you must. But its time to lay down some facts about these myths, and set the record straight. Myth One: White spots or marks on your nails means you are lacking in calcium? FALSE It means you have caused trauma to your nail by knocking it or sometimes it can be if you bite your nails or put your fingers in your mouth a lot. It is nothing to do with lacking in calcium. It is amost like a little bruise. Myth Two: Green on the nails means you have fungus growing on them? FALSE Fungi is whitish  yellow in colour and not green. Green markings indicate mold on the nails. This is just like what you get in your bathrooms when moisture gets trapped along with a warm environment. This can often occur when nail enhancements have been on and lifted slightly. W...

Welcome onboard to any new followers of my blog posts. Admittedly, I haven't written for sometime now, I have really missed it. Life, has sadly just taken over. Or I've just not been in writing mode. I went on to manage several salons, spas and then went on to open and develop my own accredited training academy.
