Pucker up! Orange is the new red for 2014

Happy New Year Everyone!

2014 is a way to start a fresh, new moon, new ideas, fresh focus, right? Well that's how we all aim to start off after the big celebrations with a "new me" regime.
Colour and make up this season gives you a reason to fall in love all over again with your make up bag. Colours are bright, and bold with a hint of nude tones thrown in for good measure.

Citrus Orange is the new red for those puckered lips....skin tones will determine which shade of orange you chose.
Skin complexion this year is all about clear complexion, perfection with creamy luminous products that look natural and bare. So guys and gals, get that exfoliator out now and have a good overall scrub to get the skin glowing and feeling wonderful. Microdermabrasion facials with help get a good overall deep exfoliation and eliminate blockages and uneven skin tone. In between this salon treatment you can do a weekly scrub at home whilst relaxing in a bubbly bath with of course lots of scented candles!
Citrus orange lips is a bold look, so you need to make sure you get the overall look right. With less is more on the eyes and the rest of the make up applied. Bold brows, minimal colour on eyes, good mascara application to define the natural eyes and highlighting and contour on cheeks, finish the look with bold, well applied lips. No lip bleeding lipstick, correct matching lip liner is a must to complete the bold look.
Matt effect for bold colours looks classic and expensive. I would recommend lots of applications using a good lip brush to work the colour into the lips, with blotting in between and a fine layer of translucent powder to seal. Wear this colour to show you mean business,. Its about girl power with attitude for 2014!

Enjoy practicing this overall look and be hot off the catwalk when you wear this with nude nails and geometric nail art designs....go woo the crowds! Check out my YouTube videos well

Till next time...love and sparkle, wear your invisible crown always Caroline x

Fake Tanning: Manual V Spray

Firstly, just to clarify the differences between the two types of fake tanning. Manual tanning is applied directly onto and into the skin that has been prepared usually in a cream or lotion format and then is allowed to develop.Spray tan is applied using a compressor type air gun and is applied in a very fine mist in a liquid format and sits onto the skin until it soaks in and then develops. Manual tanning has made a big come from in recent times. Whilst previously it was all about spray tanning treatments for numerous reasons: quickness of the treatment, even application and less product generally used. But with clients wanting  to come to the salon, or treatment area and enjoy a full treatment that involves them giving up an hour or so of their time. This has really helped the manual tan application see a big come back hit! From my experience of learning many moons ago the application of manual tanning before spray tan was even out there....I know myself, I wasn't too kee...

Ten Common Myths You Need to Know About Nails

I am sure if we all sat round a table we could share a few of these common wives tales. Told to us by our parents, grandparents or siblings.Fact is most of them are just myths, legends, tales, lies. Call them what you must. But its time to lay down some facts about these myths, and set the record straight. Myth One: White spots or marks on your nails means you are lacking in calcium? FALSE It means you have caused trauma to your nail by knocking it or sometimes it can be if you bite your nails or put your fingers in your mouth a lot. It is nothing to do with lacking in calcium. It is amost like a little bruise. Myth Two: Green on the nails means you have fungus growing on them? FALSE Fungi is whitish  yellow in colour and not green. Green markings indicate mold on the nails. This is just like what you get in your bathrooms when moisture gets trapped along with a warm environment. This can often occur when nail enhancements have been on and lifted slightly. W...
