Part 2 of 6: Fruits to Glow!

Welcome to our second part of our series "Love The Skin You`re In". The first series we spoke about using basic store cupboard ingredients such as eggs and milk to make great skin care products that work wonders on the skin.
Today, we are going to be looking at the 6 fruits that will not only benefit you inside but also on the outside too, Applied topically they can have a massive impact on how your skin looks and feels.
You know the old saying " beauty starts from within". In this case it truly does. We should listen to our skin. What we eat will have a direct effect on our skin. If we have a well balanced diet full of fresh foods, anti-oxidants, good fats, vitamin C and amino acids this will mean the difference between a tired, puffy dull complexion and a radiant glow.

Blueberries:

This super fruit is packed full of anti-oxidants that help protect the skin and fight free radicals, one of the skins worse enermies.  Free radicals are what cause ageing of the skin, wrinkles, dryness  and lots more by damaging collagen and skin cells.
If you want beautiful skin, you want plenty of anti-oxidants! Eating blueberries is one of the easiest ways of getting them.

Lemons:

Lemons are packed full of vitamin C which help to combat those free radicals we just talked about helping keep our skin younger looking. They also help balance out the pH in our skins which can be affected by things such as coffee, alcohol and processed foods that we can easily over consume at times. When your skins pH is out of sorts this reflects in your skin with dryness, it can be over sensitive and prone to break outs.

Bananas:

Rich in potassium, Vitamin E and C bananas are a natural exfoliant on the skin and are great for hydrating dry, dull skins. In addition to this they are a great combat for fighting the ageing process and can even have skin lightening benefits.

Pumpkin:

Pumpkins make great facial masks to boost the skin and offering brightening qualities to a tired, dull complexions. They contain vasts amounts of beta-carotene, Vitamin C and Zinc making them wonderful for nourishing. Of course you can also make great use of the seeds inside for sprinkling over your salads and adding to dressings.

Avocados:

It is up for debate whether this is a fruit or a vegetable? I am most definitely adding as a fruit. Not only has it amazing qualities applied topically on the skin. It is also wonderful for the inside of our bodies, like all of the fruits mentioned here. They are packed full of those good fatty acids, vitamins and skin fighting anti-oxidants that help with wrinkles, dryness and keep our skins looking younger. Who doesn't want that benefit?

Papaya:

The actual peel of this fruit has great benefits, more so than the pulp. Its the enzyme found in the peel that has great qualities. The enzyme known as "Papain" helps to brighten dull complexions. It has great exfoliation benefits and also prevents wounds from infection and heels and soothes sensitive skins. Papaya is rich in Vitamin C, A, E.

Hopefully now you can get an understanding of how fruits that are consumed are wonderful for our insides. But they offer so much more than this.
When you have an underdstanding of how something that sits in your fruit bowls at home, can give wonderful skin glowing benefits. You may look at your fruits as "Super Fruits" because they really do offer some great super powers!
Look out for my FREE recipe that will link in with this blog. Showing you step by step on how to make your very own skin care and teach you to "Love The Skin You`re In".
Until next time...

Fake Tanning: Manual V Spray

Firstly, just to clarify the differences between the two types of fake tanning. Manual tanning is applied directly onto and into the skin that has been prepared usually in a cream or lotion format and then is allowed to develop.Spray tan is applied using a compressor type air gun and is applied in a very fine mist in a liquid format and sits onto the skin until it soaks in and then develops. Manual tanning has made a big come from in recent times. Whilst previously it was all about spray tanning treatments for numerous reasons: quickness of the treatment, even application and less product generally used. But with clients wanting  to come to the salon, or treatment area and enjoy a full treatment that involves them giving up an hour or so of their time. This has really helped the manual tan application see a big come back hit! From my experience of learning many moons ago the application of manual tanning before spray tan was even out there....I know myself, I wasn't too kee...

Faceframe 3D Eyebrows: taking the beauty industry by storm!

Having done a lot of extensive research about brow extensions over the past few months. I came across this brand FaceFrame3D. What excited me the most was that they have won an invention award for the concept of this brow treatment. Plus it's a UK designed product. If, like me, you like to go for new treatments to add to your salon menus. This is definitely going to blow you and your clients away. I watched a couple of the YouTube videos and was hooked! I did look around at other brands and designs. But it kept coming right back to this company. The training is all fully accredited with BABTAC and therefore recognised within the industry. It's not the cheapest out there. But then I am not always sure that cheapest is best. You do definitely get what you pay for in this world. What is Faceframe3D?  It is a simple concept of applying synthetic individual hairs that are adhered to the skin to create a 3-dimensional eyebrow can last up to 2 weeks depending on the afterca...

Ten Common Myths You Need to Know About Nails

I am sure if we all sat round a table we could share a few of these common wives tales. Told to us by our parents, grandparents or siblings.Fact is most of them are just myths, legends, tales, lies. Call them what you must. But its time to lay down some facts about these myths, and set the record straight. Myth One: White spots or marks on your nails means you are lacking in calcium? FALSE It means you have caused trauma to your nail by knocking it or sometimes it can be if you bite your nails or put your fingers in your mouth a lot. It is nothing to do with lacking in calcium. It is amost like a little bruise. Myth Two: Green on the nails means you have fungus growing on them? FALSE Fungi is whitish  yellow in colour and not green. Green markings indicate mold on the nails. This is just like what you get in your bathrooms when moisture gets trapped along with a warm environment. This can often occur when nail enhancements have been on and lifted slightly. W...
